Save Emergency services are responding to a chemical spill at the Pōkeno on-ramp.
A chemical spill has closed the Pōkeno off-ramp heading south after a crash this afternoon.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand said an eight-wheel truck has rolled and five fire trucks are still attending the incident.
Fire and Emergency expect to be cleaning the incident up for the next few hours.
NZTA said that because of the crash, the southbound off-ramp is closed until further notice and motorists should avoid the area if possible.
