One person is in a critical condition after a serious crash involving a pedestrian and a car in Hamilton.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Clyde and Fox Sts in Hamilton East at 7.12pm.

A pedestrian was injured, and the road was closed, a police spokesperson said.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said an ambulance, rapid response vehicle and operations manager went to the scene.

“We took one person to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.”
