One of Hamilton's newest creative collectives, Spoken Chronicles Theatre Company, is making their performance debut with a season of original work Unearthed in November at The Meteor.
A story of family, fatherhood and the importance of letting go of the past, Unearthed follows the King brothers, Jake, Lachlan, Jesse and William, who are brought together by tragic circumstances after having not seen each other in years.
Together the brothers rediscover what it means to be family, to understand the importance of facing your fears, letting go of the past and moving forward.
A new theatre company, Spoken Chronicles was formed with the ambition to tell stories that are fresh and new.
Unearthed marks the directorial debut of local creative Grace Hall and brings some fresh new faces to the stage alongside some of Hamilton's more seasoned performers.
Hall says she has been "impressed with the dedication and love that the cast have brought to their roles" and she is "blown away by the talent they each possess".
The show will also mark the debut of a new song, Burned and Buried, composed by local performer Liam Hinton and written by cast members Henry Garfitt, Bailey Harris, Jack Graf and Drew Carter specifically for the show.
"Unearthed has been a journey of discovery and creation from the first rehearsal and the cast are eager to share this story with people," says Hall.
A heartfelt and thought-provoking work, Unearthed will be running at The Meteor November 5, 6, and 7 at 7pm.
Tickets are available at $15 waged, $12 unwaged and $10 student (with ID). Full event details and tickets: themeteor.co.nz.
