The fourth week of the Vege King Indoor Premier netball competition was to see two interclub challenges with the New World Rototuna Suburbs teams and the Verdettes Marist teams up against each other.

Unfortunately New World Rototuna Suburbs Premier were forced to default to their reserve team due to a number of their Magic and Beko players having another commitment. This gave Rototuna Suburbs Premier Reserve the default win.

For the Verdettes Marist clash this was a low scoring and close game.

Verdettes Marist Premier started strong to be ahead 11 goals to 7 at the end of the first quarter. At half time however the score was 21 all.

In the third quarter Verdettes Marist Old Girls showed they had come to play and took the lead 31 goals to 24. The final quarter was then very close with only a goal in it with Verdettes Marist Old Girls the eventual winner's 39 goals to 31.

Verdettes Marist Premier have been playing some good netball and came out firing despite missing their regular shooters.

There was some good movements around and in the goal circle to allow the players to get close enough to confidently shoot.

Rasharn Neil at centre for most of the game and Danni Dodges at wing attack both had solid games controlling the ball at the attacking end of the court.

Verdettes Marist Old Girls made changes each quarter trying different combinations and they found their rhythm in the second half of the game.

Conal Grant at centre in the second half did some great feeds into the centre circle. All circle defence combinations including Linda Simon, Rachel Beale and Katherine Levien worked tirelessly to get turnover ball. Tennille McDonald at centre and wing defence had a tidy game and was solid in bringing the ball through court.

In the other game Uni Premier notched up another win, this time against FTNC Premier. Uni Premier won every quarter but in the second quarter they only won this by a goal.

The half time score was 32 goals to 24 and the fulltime score 63 goals to 43. Uni Premier in the main played the fast game they are renowned for but with less errors this week.

FTNC Premier came into the game anticipating the challenge and they closely and fiercely chased and defended the players and ball. FTNC Premier displayed determination that delivered the lowest scoring game this season so far against the top ranked Uni Premier team.
