"People are invited to come along and hear about my studies in the UK and see the range of musical theatre songs I've been working on with West End performers and directors" says Gwen.
The show is aptly titled Gwen and Friends acknowledging both the support Gwen is enlisting from friends and local performers to put on the concert, and the support she has had from her friends, sponsors and supporters in perusing her studies and dream of being a professional performer.
Joining Gwen onstage for the concert will be a live band led by David Sidwell, as well as local musical theatre performers Julia Booth, Alex Pelham-Waerea, Courteney Mayall and Scot Hall. A similar format toGwen's previous fundraising concerts, audiences can expect a mixture of musical theatre classics and newer works in this musical matinee.
Seating is limited, and audiences are encouraged to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
"I was absolutely blown away by the support I received from the community for my fundraising concerts Then and Now in 2018," says Gwen. "I just wanted to raise some money, I never expected to sell out."
Tickets for Gwen and Friends at The Meteor Theatre on April 14 at 4pm can be purchased at www.themeteor.co.nz. Tickets are $25 General Admission, $20 Students/Seniors and $10 Children Under 10.
