David Baker tells a story of heartbreak after the family's inherited pet went missing two months ago:
It is just over two months since our dog went missing. At the moment the trail has gone cold and I would like to get more coverage to ignite the search and findhim.
We are missing our dog Scotty very much. He was given into our care by a close friend in January 2010 after his son was killed in a freak work accident. I have always said we inherited him. When he came to us that January I was recovering after being in hospital. Scotty was a breath of fresh air and brought with him the hope of good things ahead in my life.
Because this dog means so much I am committed in doing all I can to finding him and getting him back. Scotty was more than just a dog and hope with help and further publicity it will result in his return.
When he went missing about midday on Friday, February 17 on the corner of Norton Rd and Goodfellow Pl, Hamilton. I was sure it wasn't going to be long before he returned and lay awake at night expecting to hear his bark to come inside.
I have spent hours and hours looking, putting up posters, following up on reported sightings - all to no avail.
Many have suggested what may have happened to him - dog fighting or taken for a reward or as a hunting dog have been unhelpful; even the suggestion that he may have found another family.
If anyone can help us find him, we would be forever grateful.
