A 12-year-old boy who went missing in Hamilton has been found.

A police media spokesperson confirmed tonight Taifau Tuioti had been found safe and well and was with another family member.

Police put out an appeal earlier today asking for the public's help to find the boy who had not been seen since yesterday afternoon. They said he was new to the area and didn't know his way around.

He had last been seen in the suburb of Maeroa in Hamilton wearing a red or blue top.
