A man died of a gunshot wound in Hamilton yesterday.

Detective Sergeant Terri Wilson said a man was shot at Seddon Rd, Frankton, Hamilton at about 8.15pm on Tuesday.

"Police will remain at the Seddon Rd address today, and the following days where a scene examination will be undertaken with the assistance of scientists from ESR."

A 23-year-old woman is to appear in the Hamilton District Court charged with firearms-related offences.

Wilson said police were asking anyone with information to phone Hamilton police on (07) 858 6200, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Police said last night they were not seeking anyone else over the shooting.
