While Suburbs Premier led from start to finish and won every quarter the FTNC Premier Reserve team showed spirt and fight against the star-studded opposition.

The game was close for the first five minutes and the game was goal for goal but by the end of the quarter the Suburbs Premier team were ahead by 10 goals.

The half time score was 37 goals to 21 and the full time score 66 goals to 40.

For Suburbs Premier all 12 players got court time. For FTNC Premier Reserve and up against a high calibre team like Suburbs Premier this is a very credible score with only six or four goals the difference in each of the final three quarters.

Special mention to Laura Hutchison at goal shoot who provided a tall target and topped the team's shooting stats at over 80 per cent.

In the game between two of the top four teams, Uni Premier and FTNC Premier this could and should have been more competitive. Both teams include well known and reputable netballers.

FTNC Premier were disappointed with their first half performance in what was a challenging game physically and mentally.

At half time Uni Premier had taken a strong lead to be ahead 41 goals to 15 only to see the game closer and more competitive in the second half. The final score was 70 goals to 35.

For Uni Premier it was a highly skilled game with all 12 players getting onto court. Excellent leadership was shown by Laura Langman at centre and she formed a great midcourt combination with Sydney Fraser at wing attack.

Rachael Fabling at goal defence and Amy Christopher at goal keep were impressive on defence securing a lot of possession with some outstanding intercepts.

For FTNC Premier changes made at half time seemed to settle things but they took too long to get into the game and this is costly against the top ranked team.

In the other game of the night Verdettes Marist Old Girls showed confidence and dominance leading into the tail end of the competition.

They too led from start to finish in their game against New World Rototuna Suburbs Premier Reserve winning every quarter. The half time score was 37 goals to 15 and the final score was 71 goals to 37. For Verdettes Marist Old Girls it was another great team effort with everyone getting onto court.

There was good consistency throughout the game despite changes being made at half time.

Hayley Stockman at goal shoot had a good game, moving and shooting well and Tennille McDonald showed good fitness and played well at centre.

For Suburbs Premier Reserve changes made throughout the game resulted in a gradual improvement in performance over each of the quarters and it was good to see Sonya Noble back on court goal attack.

In the games again this week we saw some local, national and international talent and the skills on display are outstanding.
