The Boon Hamilton Street Art Festival will return this year to emblazon more walls around the Hamilton CBD and Hamilton East with vibrant murals.

In late 2015, 10 murals were created in Hamilton and received a positive reaction from the public.

The festival committee is offering property and business owners the opportunity to have a wall painted at no cost, taking care of all artist liaison and costs.

TagBusters, Creative Waikato, Wintec, Resene and other local organisations and businesses are working together with the committee on the festival.

Murals have been shown to discourage graffiti, tagging and vandalism of properties, increase foot traffic and foster business in the surrounding area and improve the quality of the public space for all to enjoy.
