BMW's new i8. A replica of the vehicle, which is in production overseas but yet to hit our shores, will be at Coombes Johnston BMW this weekend.

The future of sustainable mobility is coming to Hamilton this weekend.

A replica of the BMW i8 concept sports car will be on display from tomorrow until Sunday at Coombes Johnston BMW.

The i8 is a tailor-made hybrid sports car constructed from a clean-sheet design. This enabled engineers to utilise new light-weight construction techniques, such as extensive use of carbon fibre.

It operates with plug-in hybrid efficiency but promises sports car performance.

The BMW i8 is set to completely revolutionise its class. It will have particular appeal for people and businesses who want to make a real statement with regards to their green credentials.

What was once a ground-breaking prototype is now in live production. BMW launched the i8 in Europe to overwhelming demand. BMW New Zealand expects its allocation to start arriving early next year.

In the meantime, this weekend presents the public with the opportunity to see what this premium vehicle of the future will look like. The replica is a fibreglass shell of the BMW i8 and is available for photos.

At the same time, Coombes Johnston BMW will also display a line-up of 10 all-new and first-ever Ultimate Driving Machines that have been launched so far this year. Never before has such a range of BMWs been available for the public to view, anywhere in the Waikato.

Coombes Johnston BMW will be giving away complimentary espresso coffees all weekend.

Staff are also available to demonstrate the exclusive new BMW ConnectedDrive technology, an integrated infotainment package that lets you stay connected when you're on the road.

ConnectedDrive enables you to customise your music selection, surf the web, check your email and much more all from the comfort of your car. BMW has started rolling out this new technology that will in time become standard across the entire range.

Bring your family to Coombes Johnston BMW this weekend to see the future of sustainable motoring.

There is plenty of free parking inside the dealership and in the surrounding streets.
