The Bruce Ave pump station collects wastewater from more than 200 properties around the neighbourhood, and transfers it to another part of the city's wastewater network.
A specialist team is on site today repairing the wastewater pipe which transfers wastewater from the Bruce Ave pump station.
A number of vacuum trucks have continued to operate through the night and today to transport wastewater to other pump stations in the city.
Hamilton City Council's City Waters Manager Maire Porter said she appreciates the support from residents.
"We're working hard to get this pipe repaired and hope to have it done in the next day or two," Ms Porter said.
"We would also ask people to keep an eye out for our vacuum trucks as they continue to remove and transport all wastewater to other pump stations."
"We'll be investigating the cause of the pipe dislodgement, but at this stage it appears a slip on private property on one side of the gully has dislodged the pipe."
