Customers and staff in a Hamilton Pizza Hut franchise escaped unscathed after three armed men robbed the takeaway outlet of cash.

Waikato police Senior Sergeant Charles Burgess said the three offenders are still being sought by police after the incident on River Rd, Flagstaff, yesterday evening.

Burgess said the three men were armed with hammers when they stormed into the takeaway outlet.

"There was a customer in the store with staff at the time and the offenders stole cash and took off in a white vehicle."

Descriptions of the offenders or their vehicle were unavailable.

Meanwhile, Burgess said a woman was arrested yesterday after the robbery of the Palmerston Mini Mart on Palmerston St, Hamilton, just before 10.30am.

Burgess said the woman, alleged to be the getaway driver, was arrested at a Melville property.

The male robber is still being sought by police.
