Claudelands Rovers' men's side continued their fine form on a wet Saturday with a 2-0 win over Papakura City FC.

The result has Rovers moving up to third on the table, but seven points behind the league leaders Takapuna FC.

The weather on Saturday caused disruptions across the league, and at Claudelands the teams were battling against strong winds and a down pour of rain.

Despite the weather, Rovers stuck to their plan and were 1-0 up in five minutes after Jacob Robb seized a long pass and slotted the ball past Papakura's keeper Nicholas Draper.

Rovers had continous pressure throughout the game with Dave Smith having several attempts from distance fly just over the net.

It was not until the second half that they got the goal needed to put the game to bed, Robb again showing the composure to put the ball in the back of the net sealing their fourth win of the season.

At Porritt Stadium, Hamilton Wanderers remain top of the premier league after stealing a 2-1 win at the death against bottom of the table Bay Olympic.

Xavier Pratt scored his first goal of the season in the first half, but the overall play from both teams was sub par with the weather again causing disruptions. It got worse for Wanderers when Jayden Rollinson drew Bay Olympic level, but it was Alex Frank on hand again to give Wanderers a goal in the dying minutes of the game and retain their spot at the top of the table.

Melville United also remain top of the table in division one after breezing past Forrest Hill Milford 6-0.

Jordan Lamb, Mark Jones, Josh Davies all got on the scoreboard in the first half before Jama Boss scored a 20-minute hattrick at the end of the second half.

In the women's premier league Wanderers played out a thrilling game with Glenfield Rovers losing 5-4 in Auckland.

Wanderers took the lead early through Kelli Brown, however Dayna Stevens equalised several minutes after.

The game then turned in Glenfield's favour and forced an own goal from Wanderers defender Grace Cox giving them a 2-1 lead.

Cox then tried to make amends by embarking on a 50 yard run with the ball before having her shot saved.

Grace Wisnewski tied the game up at 2-2 with a shot from 30m out which rattled off the crossbar before crossing the goal line.

Claudia Bunge then gave Glenfield the lead again three minutes later, before Kate Loye scored again for the Auckland side.

Wisnewski then scored another long range effort to bring the game back to 4-3, but Glenfield scored again through Stevens.

It was a nervous final five minutes for Glenfield as Shae Brady headered the ball into the net for Wanderers making the game 5-4, but the Hamilton side could not find the final goal to level the game.

Across Auckland, Claudelands Rovers women's side lost 3-0 to Three Kings United.
