Police found the missing boy this morning.

Police found the missing boy this morning.

A missing 7-year-old boy in Hamilton has been found safe and well, police say.

Police issued an amber alert for the schoolboy when he failed to return to his Anderson Rd home after leaving on foot to visit a friend down the road at 4pm yesterday.

The disappearance sparked a desperate overnight search, and continued early this morning when his distraught mum told the Herald her message to the public: “Please bring my baby back to me”.

She was waiting for an update from the police and was too upset to speak further.

That update came soon after 7am, when he was found.
