Treats in the Park - the Halloween event that has been sending kids and adults into full-blown spooky madness for the past 15 years - is back.
Massive inflatable rides, eight treat stations, food stalls, entertainment, fun activities, community info, skate competition and the annual costume competitions will fill ElliottPark in Nawton, Hamilton on Tuesday.
Treats in the Park is a safe opportunity to celebrate and collect some great treats while coming together as a community.
It is a non-profit family event organised by the Western Community Centre and sponsored by Hamilton City Council and Trust Waikato.
Community Centre manager Neil Tolan says that the volunteering aspect is one of the most important parts in the event mix.
"We have volunteers who once came in prams and parents helping out at the treat stations who were on the other side once awaiting their packets of seeds or bags of popcorn, says Neil.
"Seeing the event help people grow into caring for their community and giving back, while putting smiles on the faces of the kids makes you feel like we're doing something right."
The Western Community Centre invite all children (and their adults if they want!) to dress up as their favourite Halloween character or creature. Prizes and glory await for all entrants. Check out the event's Facebook page for more information or pop into the community centre.
