'Frock up' for Hamilton bike picnic this weekend

Dress up in a frock, grab a bicycle, and head out to Memorial Park for the Foxy Lady Frocks on Bikes ride and picnic.

"I run the freelance street theatre company and we're always trying to come up with new characters that are easy for us to do, expressions of our personalities and are fun basically," Ms Jensen said.

"We've created these two new characters, we did them for Hamilton Fringe last year, and decided to keep them doing different events, so we decided to give the frocks on bikes event a go."

The event is part of the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival and is to be held on February 23 at 2.30pm.

Ms Jensen encourages people to bring along a picnic and "frock up".

The ride is from Memorial Park to the Hamilton Gardens, or if people prefer, they can meet at the gardens for the picnic part of the day.

There will be prizes for best dressed lady on a bike and not on a bike, best shoes, best helmet, best dressed bike, best picnic and picnic set-up, and foxiest gent.

"We're encouraging people to bring a picnic; we've got a whole lot of drinks that have been sponsored."
