On Sunday the women's team played Western Springs in the last fixture of round two of the premiership. Kim Maguire scored a late goal to give Wanderers the three points. They will now face off against every team in the league one more time, except Claudelands who they will face twice.
Melville United's men side secured a late winner from Federico Marquez against Manurewa AFC.
The result leaves them on 40 points, nine ahead of second place Waiheke United.
There has been speculation that the club would be docked points for an ineligible player, however, after Hamilton News contacted Auckland Football Federation over this claim, the federation responded that "they have not received any information that would warrant any further investigation at this time".
In the Premier League, Hamilton Wanderers suffered a 5-0 defeat to Glenfield Rovers. That result sees them sitting close to the bottom side of the table.
Claudelands Rovers promotion goal took a huge hit as they fell 3-1 to Takapuna in Division two. Owen Comber put his Claudelands ahead before Takapuna took control of the game.
Their ladies side were defeated 3-1 by Papakura, leaving them still without a win all season.
