Over estimating staffing costs means keeping Hamilton's central city municipal pool open for three months will cost less than expected.
The three extra months the pool will stay open will cost about $40,000 less, following revision of figures supplied when the pool's immediate future was considered.
Staffing at the poolwas calculated incorrectly and should have been $14,500, instead of $54,000 for the additional April-end of June extension.
All other figures have been peer reviewed and confirmed, said community general manager Lance Vervoort.
"While this error is regretted, it does mean keeping the pool open will cost ratepayers $40,000 less than we expected."
The total cost of the extra time will be about $42,100, rather than $81,600.
Discussions with the Sink or Swim Pool support group is ongoing on arrangements for its assistance with reception duties during the pool opening extension.
