November 1 2021 Cabinet has made an in-principle decision to move Auckland to level three, step two from next Tuesday at 11.59pm. Waikato will also see an easing of restrictions to step two from tomorrow at 11.59pm.

A second business in Ngāruawāhia - a pharmacy - has been listed as a location of interest after it emerged a person living in the community tested positive for Covid-19.

The Ngāruawāhia Pharmacy has been added alongside the community's SuperValue store after someone visited the shop on Friday afternoon between 3.10pm and 4.30pm.

SuperValue Ngāruawāhia, at 150 Great South Rd, Ngāruawāhia is linked to a positive case who was there between 5.30pm and 7.40pm on Saturday.

The small Waikato town's supermarket is also the latest anyone with the virus has been out and about in the community anywhere in the country.

Anyone who was there during that time is told to monitor their health for 14 days after being exposed, and to get a Covid test if symptoms start to develop.

It comes after the Waikato town recorded its first Covid case, confirmed by health officials last night.

Several locations and exposure events have also been revealed in Kāwhia, Hamilton and a supermarket in South Auckland.

The person was there for two hours that afternoon between 3pm and 5pm.

"Self-isolate for 14 days after you were exposed at this location of interest," the Ministry of Health says.

"Test immediately and five and 12 days after you were exposed."

Members of the public who were there during those two hours are also being urged to record their visit on the ministry's website or to call Healthline on 0800 611 116 so contact tracers can get in touch.

The Wash'n Save is the second laundromat to be visited by a Covid positive case that has then resulted in advice for members of the public to self-isolate, in recent weeks.

The Socials Laundromat on Tironui Rd in Takanini, South Auckland, was linked to a person with Covid-19 just over two weeks ago on Saturday, October 16.

More places of interest are expected to be identified today after yesterday brought mostly locations or exposure events outside of Auckland.
