Vege King Indoor Premier Results for 22 June 2017
Uni Premier 68 vs Verdettes Marist Premier 19
FTNC Premier 49 vs New World Rototuna Suburbs Premier Reserve 46
New World Rototuna Suburbs Premier 46 vs Verdettes Marist Old Girls 39

The third week of the Vege King Indoor Premier netball competition saw a really close game between FTNC Premier and New World Rototuna Suburbs Premier Reserves.

Suburbs Premier Reserves started strongly to lead at the end of the first quarter by three goals. FTNC Premier remained composed and won the second quarter to take the lead by a goal.

FTNC then won the third quarter to extend their lead to be five goals ahead only to see Suburbs Premier Reserve have a good final quarter to narrow the gap to only lose by three goals.

The final score was 49 goals to 46. For FTNC Premier all players had court time allowing them the chance to build an understanding of each other. Erika Barr at wing attack showed strength and domination creating opportunities on attack.

Suburbs Premier Reserves also saw all players getting court time with everyone doing their job and working tirelessly. Overall an awesome effort by the bottom ranked team.
The other quite competitive game was that between the Rototuna Suburbs Premier and Verdettes Marist Old Girls.

Verdettes Marist Old Girls came out firing to have the lead at the end of the first quarter by a goal. Suburbs Premier then had a particularly strong and powerful second quarter to take the lead by ten goals.

Suburbs Premier further extended their lead in the third quarter. Verdettes Marist Old Girls had a strong final quarter winning this and reducing the gap.

The final score was 46 goals to 39. For Verdettes Marist Old Girls Niki Crombie at wing defence and centre in the second half injected speed and energy into the game.

The defence combination of Rachel Beale at goal defence and Linda Simon at goal keep for most of the game played well and were effective in creating turnover ball.

In the other game Uni Premier again completely dominated this time against Verdettes Marist Premier.

Uni Premier played at pace showing great bursts of speed but at times this also produced some errors. They kept Verdettes Marist Premier to single digits in every quarter and Marist were unable to score a goal in the second quarter due to great defence from Uni and missed opportunities by the shooters.

The final score was 68 goals to 19. For Uni Premier it was great to welcome Ariana Cable-Dixon back at centre, returning from the Magic team. She combined well with Ngawai Eyles at wing attack, who has returned from her time as a training partner with Steel.

Jessie Taane at goal attack and young shooter Fiesola Puamau at goal shoot played well shooting consistently. Puamau is new to the team this season and fitting in well. All 12 players again got court time.

Verdettes Marist Premier started with only eight players and while they had ample opportunity at times and good ball they were not able to convert this to goals. The defensive team worked hard to try and stem the goal count.
