Police have found the body of a man after a desperate search of the Coromandel area.

Jared, 35, was reported missing on August 24 after last being seen leaving his home address on Waiomu Valley Rd.

He had been heading towards the Coromandel region but never returned home.

Police said they found a body yesterday evening while searching near the Coromandel Peninsula.

“While formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be that of the missing 35-year-old,” police said.

Police said their thoughts and sympathies go out to his family during this difficult time.

The matter will be referred to the coroner.
