One person has died after a crash on Arapuni Rd, Pukeatua, in the Waipā District.

Police said the crash was initially reported as a two-vehicle crash, however, it had since been confirmed to be a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

The crash was reported to police around 3.45pm on Tuesday.

The road was closed last night while the Serious Crash Unit examined the scene.

Motorists were asked to continue taking alternative routes where possible.
