New Zealand's Got Talent should be the spokesperson for the cliché "talent comes in all shapes and sizes."
I was greeted by a chainsaw-wielding man and a chap covered in false blood as I shuffled closer towards the audition room.
Something tells me those two were inter-related.
It's never easy
to strike up a conversation with a pair of such odd looking creatures.
I failed miserably, but managed to take a few sly photographs.
My audition was possibly one of the slowest processes I've ever be involved with, aside from a phone call with Studylink.
By the time my number was called I don't think there was any part of my body that was left not shaking.
And to make matters worse, there was a chainsaw roaring and a woman screaming in the next audition room. Guess the chaps I met earlier were having their time to shine.
I anxiously headed from the waiting room into a second waiting room.
It was almost like a production line the way they fed us through.
I auditioned with "Let's get it on" by Marvin Gaye as planned, in front of two ladies.
One who I recognised as well renowned vocal coach Suzanne Lynch, who worked with the contestants from New Zealand Idol.
I felt my audition went relatively well and the judges appreciated that I sung such an old school classic.
I left the auditions feeling sick, mainly from being so tense for the previous three hours.
Now I, along with thousands of other hopefuls, must wait until next month to hear the verdict of our auditions.
