Two Kiwi music legends are preparing for an extensive tour, beginning in Rotorua.

New Zealand country music stars and long-time friends Dennis Marsh and Eddie Low are teaming up for a 15-date North Island tour. The platinum recording artists' From Your Place to Our Place tour visits Rotorua's Civic Theatre on April 3 and ends in Whangarei on April 21.

Low and Marsh are looking forward to touring with each other and are promising a good show.

"They're [audiences] going to be, for the first time, getting two legends, two country music singers that have gone to the top," Marsh says.

"We'll give you a great evening of entertainment," Low says.

"I'm really looking forward to it because I'm on stage with someone I've looked up to for many years," Marsh says.

Marsh has amassed 350,000 album sales, including three platinum and 11 gold albums, making him New Zealand's top-selling country music artist of all time.

In 2011, he received the Legend Award at the annual New Zealand Country Music Awards.

Low has had a 50-year career and has shared the stage with music's greats, including Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers and more, and won the 2009 Country Music Legend Award.

The pair say they will give audiences some high energy and a lot of fun.

"I don't jump around too much, I leave the bouncing to Dennis," Low says.

"I do suspect a lot of it will be off the cuff."

They say their music is enjoyed by people of all ages listening and singing along.

"I believe it's the type of material we're recording," Low says.

The pair say one of the best parts of touring is meeting new people. They encouraged members of the public to come along and check out the show.

"People are the most important part ... thank you," Marsh says. "Come along and see two legends at their best."

Promoter Brent Eccles says the tour will be one to remember.

"The boys really wanted to get out to play the heartland and having spoken to venue operators in places like Masterton, Te Kuiti, Opotiki and Whakatane, I can see why ... they are jumping for joy. This is going to be a special tour."
