Ever enjoyed music on a sunny avo amid the avos?

Next month Live Music at the Lettuce Inn returns to the Liberty Growers' hydroponic lettuce and herb farm in Katikati.

The festival will take place in an avocado grove on the farm.

Performers will include Dam Dans - featuring Brooke Singer (French for Rabbits), Penelope Esplin (Grawlixes), Jacqui Nyman (Fraser Ross & the 04s & Sulco d'Alma) and Olivia Campion (Girl boss & Yumi Zouma), Bangers and Smash, Birdhouse, Bree Rose, Grown Downz, the Julian Temple Band, the Something Quartet and DJ Kitten Witch.

The festival will also feature installations from visual artists.

Live Music at the Lettuce Inn #6 is at 33 Sedgemoor Lane, Katikati on January 26.

Dunedin "sludge pop" band Soaked Oats are hitting the road for towns great and small on their 13-date Aotearoa tour.

The Shuggah Doom Tour, starting December 28 and wrapping up on February 21, will visit centres including Coromandel, Gisborne, Mount Maunganui, Taupo, Leigh and Kapiti Coast among others.

During that time the band will release a new single, Shuggah Doom, from an EP due early next year.

Soaked Oats have just returned from a successful US tour where they travelled in excess of 10,000 miles in a 1980s RV to play 20 shows.

Children's songwriters Kath Bee and Anna van Riel have recorded a Christmas song, Give Love at Christmas, with proceeds going to Variety.

The catchy pop song, recorded at Wanaka by Danny Fairley, includes a multicultural and multi-aged choir from around the Wanaka area, with a gospel touch added by 12-year-old soloist Matilda Metcalf.
