Yes, in good potting mix. NZ spinach (Tetragonia tetragoniodes) is no relation to regular spinach, but tastes similar when cooked. It suffers from few pests and diseases, but needs regular watering: although established plants might withstand drought, the resulting leaves will notbe as tender and tasty. Harvest by pinching out growing tips once they are about 7cm long, which also encourages more side shoots. As the plant grows it will trail over the sides of the pot.

Be bold and lop off the top, leaving just a bare trunk. Water when the soil seems dry (but don't leave the pot sitting in water) and within a few weeks new shoots should appear, ultimately resulting in a multi-branched specimen. Sometimes the roots will send out suckers which can be propagated, and if you replant the cut-off top this often results in a new plant, too.
