Into The Sunshine
Rating: 4/5

It goes without saying that Kiwis are at the forefront of the reggae-based electro-funk roots movement. Aaron Tokona and his band AHoriBuzz are taking their version of the sound on the road to venues around the country on the back of this release, a record that could well become the sound of the approaching summer.

Comprising five new tracks and five remixes, all five minutes-plus, Into The Sunshine is a vibrant, pumping beast of a double-EP.

Opener Turnaround kicks off the funkathon, and is the first of many examples showing what an amazing live show it would be.

But it's the title track closing out the first half of the record which really stands out, and not just because instead of reggae or funk it comes across more like soaring 70s FM rock. The warm strum of guitars drives a song of cheerful harmonies, tinkling ivories and classic rock lead guitar solos, descending into a brass melee.
