Liam Neeson is a hero we want to cheer on.

The premise of new action flick Non-Stop sounds risky - a movie set in a plane where a lone US air marshall struggles to stop a mysterious killer on board from murdering a passenger every 20 minutes.

"Sounds like a possible front runner for a Razzies award," I told myself.

Boy, was I in for a treat.

Non-Stop is exactly that.

It is a gripping, clever, action-come-thriller packed with so many twists and turns, you never see the end coming.

Liam Neeson plays the role of Bill Marks - a grieving alcoholic air marshall struggling to overcome his own demons - who tries to pluck out who is sending him cryptic texts inflight, blackmailing him for $150 million or people will die.

And they do.

Julianne Moore also stars in the movie and becomes an ally of Marks'

- or does she?

Despite his obvious flaws, Marks is (or was) a good air marshall and quickly takes action in whittling down a list of suspects.

However, the killer is also clever and the result is a suspenseful game of cat-and-mouse.

The hows and wheres of killing off passengers while on board a plane mid- flight are well done.

The incorporation of text messages on screen keeps viewers up to speed and on the edge of their seats.

The film is also well shot, with clever use of camera work and direction.

Overall, Non-Stop is a subtly well executed complete movie package.

The flick is an example of how plane movies should be made.

I recommend it to anyone who loves a good who-dunnit.
