As you may expect there are the madmen - Cobra Commander (Luke Bracey) and Zartan (Arnold Vosloo) - who want to rule the entire world.
Unless the world's superpowers hand over their nuclear weapons, their countries will be obliterated.
Leading the defence of the free world are the GI Joes.
Once the defenders of freedom, they have been disgraced and officially disbanded by a renegade US president.
Decimated in battle, only three survive to help save the world - Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson), Jaye (Adrianne Palicki) and Flint (DJ Cotrona). But they have been left isolated and need the help of retired General Joe Colton (Bruce Willis) to make things right.
Colton knows how to get the Joes close enough to the action to right the wrongs.
And so the action and excitement begins - the Joes up against Cobra Commander and Zartan.
Throw in Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow and you have just about every type of action covered.
There are gun battles, knife battles, kung fu, cars, motorbikes, boats, and helicopter chases. It's exhausting.
And just when you think a swarm of bugs is mostly harmless, they explode on you and blow apart a prison.
For fantasy action, the GI Joes give you a thrill a minute and offer no opportunity to sit back and relax.
