Out with the old
Celebrate autumn by pulling out any exhausted vegetables like courgettes and put some new seedlings in. Plant something new every weekend so you don't end up with a glut.
Get organised
If you're planting seeds, divide up the garden space with planks - it gives you
something to walk on, and helps you to remember what you've planted where. If your memory is really bad, paint the name on the plank.
Make a plan
Decide on your autumn bulbs and start hunting them out at the garden centres. If you're not quite ready to plant them, store them in paper bags in the fridge.
Try something new
Plant something you haven't tried before. My choice is white onions because they're hardly ever available in our area. They're soft, pearly coloured and delicate.
