Hunt for bachelors

The search is on again to find the ideal rural bloke.

Kiwi dudes who can drive a digger, reverse a trailer, use a chainsaw, build a fence and rustle up a roast dinner are perfect for the 2013 Fieldays rural bachelor of the year competition.

Entries are open and Fieldays is on the lookout for hard working rural bachelors to represent the farming community.

In keeping with Fieldays' global theme, the quest is going trans-Tasman and as well as six Kiwi blokes two Australians can join the competition.

Entrants will be flown to a secret location and will make their way to Fieldays by 5pm the following day, stopping in specific towns to complete various tasks.

Bachelors must be prepared to roll their sleeves up and get into whatever is required, plus be up for some mystery and fun.

Once at Fieldays, the bachelors will take part in four days of testing their rural skills, No.8 wire innovative attitude and good all-round charisma.

Rural bachelor of the year fans can follow the selected finalists and follow their exploits online.

Competitors can expect to gain many female fans during the event but the most important thing on everyone's mind will be the battle for the coveted 'Golden Gumboot' trophy and the title.

Eligible contestants must be over 18, work in the rural industry and ooze Kiwi/Aussie bloke charm.
