Subtle beauty

If your roses are dozing, don't forget hellebores. They're available at garden centres now and they are are simply, and subtly, gorgeous.

Feed your lawn

Waterlogged lawns could be going yellow about now, but yellowing could also be caused by lack of nutrients. A feed might not go
astray.

Light it up

Give outdoor lighting a maintenance check. Replace bulbs, check connections and of your lights are moveable, reposition them as the foliage around them may have changed in the winter months.

Hungry birds

Encourage your kids to make a bird pudding. Melt dripping and mix with honey and seed mix. When set, put it in a netting bag and hang it on the bare branch of a tree for hungry birds.
