The caterpillars of the white butterfly will be out to cause you grief. Hand-pick if you prefer not to spray or cover up with netting.

Feed your fruit

Keep watering and fertilising fruit trees, and spray pip and stone fruit to prevent fungus diseases. Give your lemons a feed of citrus plant food.

If your tomatoes are flowering now you can give them a spray to help pollinate the flowers, especially if there's a shortage of bees, such as in a glasshouse.

Have some fun with cucumbers. You can raise them in pots to foil the slugs and snails and then plant on the edge of a raised bed so they can trail over. Try round apple cucumbers, miniature cucumbers, grafted Supacumbas and gherkins.
