Game Review: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14

It's hard to believe Tiger Woods PGA Tour is the ninth title in the series to be released on the Xbox 360. It is also the most complete and comprehensive golfing simulation to date.

To prove my point, I only need to run through what's new in PGA Tour 14.

The game features 35 rostered PGA and LPGA players and now includes legends Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, Lee Trevino and Gary Player.

For the first time players can compete in all four major championships - The Masters, US Open, the Open Championship and the PGA Championship.

Play on no less than 20 real-life courses straight off the disc, including five additions.

Play a whole career in the LPGA, battling your way through the women's ranks against the likes of Natalie Gulbis, Stacy Lewis and Lexi Thompson.

Up to 24 other players can compete simultaneously in tournaments with the opposition's shots being represented by arcs on screen.

Night golf makes an appearance with illuminated golf balls.

Though PGA Tour 14's Kinect functionality boasts scanning of more than 1000 data points in real time, I found the game difficult to play using Kinect. Putting especially lacked the relative feel needed to achieve any consistent accuracy. I found the Xbox controller was the best way to experience any consistency.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 is the pinnacle of golf simulations and a must-have for any fan.
