Let's get one thing clear from the start. Grid 2 is a good racing game but it bears little resemblance to what made 2008's original Grid a great racing game.
Some of the most enjoyable race modes have been filtered into Codemasters' other monosyllabic racing title, Dirt.
The Demolition
Derby, which gave Grid its solid replay factor, is a criminal omission this time around.
Also noticeable by their absence are any significant real-world tracks to race on apart from Indianapolis, Yas Marina and Brands Hatch.
On a positive note, Codemasters have nailed AI when it comes to driving games. Even when playing against the console you get a genuine feeling that there are living, breathing and thinking drivers in the opposing vehicles.
