Alvin the chipmunk is certainly an endearing little creature.

And you know when Alvin's about, nothing is going to go to plan.

Alvin and his chipmunk mates are a lot of fun and their "adventures" have the ability to make both youngsters and adults laugh.

In their latest adventure, Dave (Jason Lee) decides his team - chipmunks Alvin, Simon and Theodore and chipettes Eleanor, Jeanette and Brittany - deserves a holiday after a busy schedule, and off on a luxury cruise they go.

Alas, it doesn't take long for Alvin to take over - and the chaos to begin.

If there is one word Alvin doesn't understand, it is "no". But, as always, Alvin goes a little overboard, literally. Singlehandedly, he takes the chipmunks to the air on a hang-glider and on to a remote island.

There, Alvin begins to see the error of his ways and decides it is time for him to take some responsibility and ensure the safety of his friends.

With the help of a new adventurous mate, Simon, Alvin and the island's mysterious resident Zoe must find safety - and hope that Dave can rescue them before the island's volcano explodes.
