Australian-New Zealand country musician Jodi Vaughan has been inducted into the Tamworth Hands of Fame in Australia.
In a ceremony held during the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Vaughan was honoured for her five decades in the industry by being invited to leave her handprints in concrete at Hands of FamePark.
Australian-born Vaughan, of Biripi Aboriginal descent, is known for her collaborations with fellow country icons Gray Bartlett and Brendan Dugan.
She rose to fame in 1976 following her success on The Entertainers and toured with Bartlett and Dugan.
Vaughan was a lead resident performer on That’s Country from 1980 to 1984, where her weekly duets with Dugan made them a “household name” pairing.
Vaughan and Dugan’s 1982 duet album Fairweather Friends and their 1990 Together Again album with Bartlett reached Platinum status.
Her 1984 appearance on Nashville Now with Bartlett and Dugan, saw her perform to a US audience of 30 million, and open for stars like Kenny Rogers and Freddy Fender.
Now living in Hamilton, New Zealand, Vaughan is still involved in the music industry.
She has found renewed chart success through a collaboration with singer-songwriter Aly Cook, called Sisters in Country.
Their debut album, Downunder Girls, soared to #1 on the Official NZ Album Charts and features several singles that have dominated Australian independent airplay charts, including Hey Jolene and That’s What We Do.

Vaughan also won the 2023 Benny Award, New Zealand’s longest-running Entertainer award.
“To have my journey recognised here in Tamworth, back where my roots are, is an incredible honour,” Vaughan said.
“From the early days being discovered by Brendan and Gray to the decades spent on stage with Brendan and now with Aly with Sisters in Country, this award belongs to the fans who have followed my music from the very beginning.”
The induction into the Australian Hands of Fame collection comes after Vaughan was inducted into the Gore Country Music Hands of Fame in New Zealand in 2024.
