Hillcrest High School drama students will stage the stark 13 by Michael Bartlett later this month.
Described as a powerful, disturbing play, 13 is set after civil unrest in a nightmarish London. It starts with student riots and ends in a political setting - linked by a selection of individual
stories.
People awake from an identical, terrifying dream. At the same moment, a young man returns home after years away to find economic gloom, ineffective protest, and a prime minister about to declare war.
In a year which has seen governments fall and hundreds of thousands take to the streets, the play explores the meaning of personal responsibility, the hold the past has over the future and the nature of belief.
