It's official, summer is going to last a little while longer as we digest the latest offering from Wellington band The Black Seeds.
They have a reputation for major live performances and impressive albums that display their distinctive sound that blends infectious melodies, big-beat funk, dub, soul sprinkled with fusion
jazz and stirred with vintage roots-reggae.
Led by the vocals of Barnaby Weir and Daniel Weetman, The Black Seeds' music crosses boundaries with wanton abandon to great effect. From start to finish the album pulses on many levels.
Standouts on the album include the instrumental Loose Cartilage with it's crackling guitar riff, and the low-tempo pulse of Frostbite.
