A man has seriously injured after nearly drowning in Mount Maunganui.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the man had been taken to Tauranga Hospital in serious condition after the near drowning at the beach near Oceanbeach Rd.
They were called at 3.40pm.
Surf lifesavers were also at the scene.
