A man involved in an aggravated robbery at a service station in Waihi last night threatened to shoot the attendant.
Police responded to the report of an aggravated robbery around 9.30pm at a service station on Seddon St, a police spokeswoman said.
"A man, who was wearing a yellow jacketand had his face covered, threatened to shoot the attendant, but a weapon was never presented."
She said the man demanded cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot.
Police are investigating and ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that might help, to call police on (07) 85862 00 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
