A car blocked traffic for a brief moment on State Highway 36 between Tauranga and Rotorua this morning after it crashed into a bridge, near Williams Rd.
Emergency services were called to reports of a car crash between Rotorua and Tauranga this morning.
The crash happened on State Highway 36, Pyes Pa Rd, near Williams Rd about 7.30am.
A Fire Service communications spokesman said firefighters had been asked to help by ambulance staff and were still responding.
The crash blocked a lane of the bridge near Williams Rd.
A reporter at the scene said traffic was slow but flowing freely around the single car, which was to be towed from the scene.
