Crash in central Tauranga blocking busy street

Emergency services are at the scene of a crash blocking one of Tauranga's busiest streets.

A car is blocking a lane at the intersection of Cameron Rd and 1st Ave about 11.50am.

Police and St John ambulance officers are at the scene. It is understood they are treated a female driver from the car, which was blocking the northbound-lane.

A reporter at the scene said traffic was moving, albeit slowly. Police were directing traffic while trying to clear the scene.
