A Katikati man injured in a glider crash at Tauranga Airport yesterday remains in a critical condition at Waikato Hospital.

The 40-year old was critically hurt when the glider he had ben travelling in crash while appearing to come into land at the northwest end of the airport.

The glider appeard to have clipped a parked trailer near the end of a hanger before it carried on to hit a second trailer.

The glider also suffered serious damage.

A Waikato Hospital spokeswoman said the man was in a critical condition in the hospital's intensive care unit.
