State Highway 10 was closed south of Kaeo after a two vehicle collision left multiple people injured, including four seriously.
The crash, between a people mover and a station wagon, happened near the intersection of SH10 and Waiare Rd about 12.35pm today.
The car has flipped onto its side andhas come to rest across the road. SH10 has been closed while a helicopter has landed to take two of the injured to hospital.
Firefighters from Kaeo and Kerikeri were at the scene along with three ambulances and police.
Four people were taken to hospital by the Northland Electricity rescue helicopter in a serious condition while another five were taken to hospital by ambulance with lesser injuries.
