One of the major events on the Kerikeri Bowling Club's summer programme, the two-day men's triples tournament played recently was described by organisers as a huge success with 29 teams from Northland clubs involved.

Traditionally run as a two day tournament, the men's triples was held over one day this year, Kerikeri bowling commentator Judith Boat noted. Clubs represented included Kaikohe, Cooper's Beach, Lyttleton, Kaitaia, Opononi, Kerikeri, Onerahi, Kohukohu, Hikurangi, Whangarei, Kensington, Mangawhai, Waitangi, Remuera, Russell and Okaihau.

"The weather was fantastic, the greens in top condition, and the newly-painted club rooms along with the revamped gardens all looked amazing and were commented on by many players and passers-by," she said.

On behalf of the organisers, she also thanked all involved including the members who provided the outstanding catering, and all the sponsors for helping make this tournament such a huge success.

"A great day was had by all and many players indicated they would be back next year to take part in this prestigious annual event."
