Mangonui seniors

The matches of the week played in Mangonui senior netball last Thursday evening were as follows as compiled by local commentator Lesley Wallace.

Blue House Dolphins 39 Waipap Stingers 24: Waipap Stingers started this Premier 1 match on the back foot with experienced shooter Rhonda Rahuruhi away (at the Northland Area Schools tournament with her ALS team) and while stalwart GA Bronwyn Beddows kept the side's hopes alive against last year's champions, Bluehhouse's tight defence contested every pass with shooters Nadz Boynton and Lisa Tamarua converting turnovers into points.

KC UNISS 48 Hauora Ngakau 16: The speed and agility of the young KC team, especially shooters Seroya Nankervill and Shayna Rogers-Christensen, proved too much in this Prem 2 clash. The college girls were ruthless throughout the court with their fitness showing through. Hauora GA Jazamaine Cope provided some stability but her side was never given enough possession to work with.

Houhora Heat 29 Awanui Hotshots 22: Both teams going goal for goal for most of this A2 match. Strong defence and excellent shooting displayed by all involved while both teams applauded the excellent officiating of umpires Natalie Peters and Gloria Harrison.
