Onerahi Central were taught another lesson by the schoolboys  in losing premier grade's 55 over competition, at Kensington Park.
It was Whangarei Boys High School First X1's third win from the four championships in the 2009/2010 club cricket season, having earlier won the one-day competition as well as the twenty20 final.
Onerahi
have struggled against the schoolboys in their round robin matches and yesterday  was no exception.
Batting first, Boys High professional Richard Kaufman started as he meant to go on, and hit a massive 146 runs in his final performance for the schoolboys.
The rest of the order fell for single figures with the exception of Tom Herman who hit 35 not out, with the schoolboys making 207 for seven.
Sean Doel was the best of Onerahi's bowlers, grabbing three wickets for 17 runs in his 10 overs.
Onerahi's batsmen were restricted by sharp bowling and fielding by the schoolboys, with Kaufman backing up his batting effort with the ball, taking 3/12, including the wicket of Josh Matthews, who looked dangerous before being dismissed lbw for 45.
Craig Russell contributed a further 32, while Chris Harrison chipped in 22, but the schoolboys were too good, winning by 63 runs after getting Onerahi all out for 144.
With club of the year points on the line, the final round of the 55-over competition was played on Saturday.
Onerahi travelled to Kaipara Flats for the final round, and after winning the toss, sent their hosts into bat.
Kaipara's Matt Taylor hit 74 before being dismissed by Adam Sylva, and while the middle order fell away, Michael O'Flaherty put in a solid tailend effort, hitting 84, to help his side to 219, after 44 overs.
Will Johnston (3/60), Sylva (3/43) and Nic Breslin (2/34) were the best with the ball for Onerahi, while Josh Matthews (42), and Sean Doel (40) looked sharp when they went into bat. However, a six wicket haul for 37 runs by Kaipara's Tauseef Satti saw Onerahi restricted to 167 all out in 32.2 overs, leaving Kaipara with a 52 run victory.
Maungakaramea had a convincing six wicket victory over Kamo in their last round match at Kamo.
Dean Child's 38, along with 42 runs from Brett Hood and 43 not out from Finlay Brooker saw the visitors reach 4/173 in 41.2 overs after earlier dismissing Kamo for 170. Maungakaramea's Craig Davie-Martin impressed with the ball snatching 5/54 during his 17 overs.
At Kensington Park, WBHS  had an eight wicket win over City.
City batted first but some sharp bowling by Alex Seymour (4/47) and a strong fielding effort saw City all out for 164. The school boys passed their target in 30 overs, reaching 166, with Richard Kaufman's ton (108) and Henry Cooper's 34 not out.
The 2009/2010 season drew to a close for most teams at the weekend, with only the two-day final to be played, starting on Saturday.
