A stellar cast of the best Northland sportspeople will gather in Whangarei tomorrow night for the annual Genesis Energey Northland Sports Awards. There are more than 50 awards to be announced, including the major awards for teamn of th eyear, sportswoman and sportsman of the year and the overall Northland sportsperson of the year award. The event, co-ordinated by Sport Northland is one of the highlights of the sporting calendar and has a strong line-up of potential candidates vying for the major awards this year. The annual Silver Ferns cocktail hour precedes the main dinner, where as many of Northland's national representatives past and present gather, and three more Northland sportspeople will also be inducted into the Northland Legends of Sport during the awards function. The full list of award nominees is:
